About this guidance

It partially updates NICE technology appraisal guidance 70 (published October 2003).
This guidance updates and replaces recommendation 1.1 of TA70. The review and re-appraisal of imatinib for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) has resulted in a change in the guidance. Specifically, standard-dose imatinib[2] is recommended as an option for the first-line treatment of adults with chronic phase Philadelphia-chromosome-positive CML.
We have produced a summary of this guidance for patients and carers. Tools to help you put the guidance into practice and information about the evidence it is based on are also available.
